Having such great adventures available in our outdoors can bring terrible challenges for our pets. Ticks, coyotes and snakes can endanger our roaming friends. We protect them by providing medicines, keeping them on leashes and supervising them when outside. Unfortunately, the snakes are able to hide far better than we are able to see them.
We have venomous snakes among our neighbors. Rattlesnakes and copperheads are plentiful and their poison is fast acting. Most veterinarians cannot afford to have the antivenoms available due to the cost. Also, most are not open at the time we have an emergency. Please familiarize yourself with those listed here that do stock the antivenoms and who provide emergency service hours. We have verified (as of June 2023) that these providers stock the needed antivenom.
Keep yourself and your pets safe!
